Tired. Headaches. Constant Thirst.
Only a few of the many weird symptoms of my week without pop.
It was bad...It was ugly...but not as bad as I imagined it to be.
The sleepiness stopped after a day or two and I only got a headache the first 2 days I believe. The thirst was the worst part though. Simply because it took a while to find something that could quench it. After I found my strawberry lemonade did the trick though all was well with the world :)
In hindsight I believe that drinking that giant pop last night at Katelyn's was a little foolish...
First of all, all that sugar got to our heads pretty fast and we were pretty crazy for a while (as the out-takes of the video will show. Secondly, I woke up 4 times last night from heartburn related to drinking that much pop that late in the evening and after a week without it.
But it was good and over all I think it taught us both that we're not so dependent on it as we thought. For now I'm going to work on adding more water to my diet to offset the pop better so I'm not so reliant on the caffeine fix.

Day 4!!!!! Katelyn
So it turns out it will be a week and a day... Yesterday no headaches, no mood swings, no guys being punched by me.... so far so good. Maybe not that addicted to pop like I thought! Only one I wanted to punch was Nicole for sending that text message!!!! Peace!

Day 3 -Nicole
I'm craving some Pepsi like crazy now (thanks to Katylyn!)
so to annoy her I wrote her this:
Picture a large cool glass, filled to the brim with Pepsi, quietly fizzling with little bubbles forming alone the inside of the glass..getting closer to the glass you can smell the sugary syrup and almost taster the bubble beverage.
Cool and quenching it slides down your throat and coats your stomach with a contentedly sweet delicious liquid. :] haha

Day 3 for Katelyn y'all!
I am actually feeling really good! Drinking tons of Gatorade, no headaches, some cravings of course but nothing I can't live through.... the one thing as I stated in my last post is I'm hungry alot and eating more than usual. Today may prove to be harder for I'll be stressed (job looking)... Have a good day!

Katelyn day 2
This is better than I thought... I have self-control lol... I admit I am still craving the flowing goodness, but who doesn't? I haven't had another headache... yet... but I am eating more food than I usually do (not sure if it's a good sign). Until tomorrow!
Day 2 - Nicole
The main thing I'm noticing is how tired I am. I'm just barely starting to crave pop less but I'm still thirsty alot. I did get a little bit of a headache last night but not nearly as bad as the night before.
I think our next challenge should be how long we can go without pop...lol

"Pop Experiment" Day 1 -Nicole
Headache: hit me at exactly 6:54 last night it was pretty bad but didn't last long.
Mood Swings: not that I could tell but I was more tired than normal and went to bed earlier and slept heavily through the night.
Cravings: well I can't say if someone left me alone with a giant Pepsi for 10 minutes I wouldn't drink it but I have been able to resist buying one.
Other: the only thing that I found that did some good in quenching my thirst last night was strawberry lemonade and I'm hoping that works again tonight.

Katelyn- Day 1
Yesterday went by pretty fast (which is fine by me). I did however get the craving about 2 when I was shopping and a major headache at 3, but besides that I bought a water bottle then drank lots of Gatorade. Hoping the rest of the week will be like this (minus the headaches of course). I will be buying a root beer asap after this week!!!!!

"Pop" intro -Nicole
To be completely honest I have been thinking for a while that I should cut down on my pop consumption but I had no one else to do it with me. So when Katelyn mentioned it the other day we both immediately fell into plan mode and today we recorded and posted our intro video. I'm not sure how we're both going to fare with our challenge I just hope we both make it through the week! I think my best friend this week will be my water bottle,I'm hoping that by keeping myself super hydrated I won't crave pop as much. Wish me luck!
Katelyn 'pop' intro
Hello... I'm Katelyn! I'm 20 years old and am addicted to pop. I drink at least 20oz a day (not including the 44oz slurpees, ect.) I am only half the reason this blog/challenge came about. I know I will get many headaches (stated in the video) but I take this on knowing I need to drink way more water and way less pop. I'm sure I will be writing daily on this, also tweeting about it (www.twitter.com/katylyn89) Enjoy!
Pop Experiment - Before
Two teens start an experiment documenting the effects of not drinking pop for 1 week.
